ਜਨਮਿ ਨ ਮਰੈ ਨ ਆਵੈ ਨ ਜਾਇ ॥
janam na marai na aavai na jaa-ay.
He is not born, and He does not die; He does not come and go in reincarnation.
ਨਾਨਕ ਕਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਰਹਿਓ ਸਮਾਇ ॥੪॥੧॥
naanak kaa parabh rahi-o samaa-ay. ||4||1||
The God of Nanak is pervading and permeating everywhere. ||4||1||

The One is not born and does not die, and does not come and go.
Nanak says: my Lord is spread through everything, everywhere.
Never born, never gone — the One is spread through everything, everywhere.
The One is never born, never dies, never comes or goes, and fills everything, everywhere.
The close is serene. Naanak kaa prabh rahi-o samaa-ay: Nanak's Lord is woven through all things. The whole shabad settles into that wide, open calm.
