Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

I have seen the One in the Sangat, and within my own mind.

High in the sky, deep below the earth, and in everything, the One is everywhere, filling it all. With love and joy, I sing the One's praises.

The One is everywhere at once — and also right inside you.
The deeper layer

The One fills everything, high and low, and lives inside your own mind too.

This is the rahaa-o, the "pause" line, the centre of the shabad. Satsang paykhi-o man maa-ay: seen in the Sangat — people gathered together to remember the One — and within my own mind. Oobh pa-i-aal sarab meh pooran: filling the sky above, the depths below, and everything. Seeing this, the heart overflows into ras mangal, songs of joy.

A Question to Sit With

When have you felt joy so big it turned into a song or a shout?
