In plain words

The One is my anchor and support, and in the One I place my hope.

My pain and my joy, I place them all before the One.

The One keeps the faults of a humble servant covered.

Nanak says: I sing the praises of the One.

You can bring both your joy and your struggle to the same safe place.
The deeper layer

The One is your anchor; bring your pain and your joy there, and your faults are kept covered.

Ot means support, something to lean on, like an anchor that keeps a boat steady. Dukh sukh, sad and happy both, the Guru places in the One's hands.

Then: raakh leeno sabh jan kaa parh-daa. Parh-daa is a curtain or cover. The One keeps the faults of loving people covered. Think of a grandparent who sees you spill juice at a big dinner. Instead of pointing it out to everyone, they quietly slide a napkin over it and wink. You are held with care, not shamed. No wonder Nanak just wants to sing the One's praise.

A Question to Sit With

Who or what do you turn to on both your best and your hardest days?
