In plain words

Even a heart that's been in the dark can suddenly fill with light when it lines up with what's good.

The old ropes fall away, the fog lifts, and things become clear.

You start to see that everything belongs to the One who made it all — including you.

Even a heart that's been in the dark can suddenly fill with light — no one is ever too lost.
The deeper layer

A Shalok of Guru Ram Das (Fourth Mehl) — a rare fourth-Guru voice among these mostly third-Guru Shaloks. Its message is pure hope: andhay... paraapat hoay — even "the blind receive the Divine Light" when they "merge with the Will of the True Guru." No one is too lost. The bonds break, "the darkness of ignorance is dispelled," and one comes to see "everything belongs to the One who created the body." The seeking-Sanctuary close — "the Creator preserves his honor" — is the trust that runs through the whole Vaar.

A Question to Sit With

Have you ever suddenly 'seen' something clearly that had confused you for a long time?
