When the One is kind, it puts a good song in your heart and keeps you close.
It brings you to real wisdom and blesses you with peace.
It keeps the honor of those who love it, and others come to respect them too.
Whoever is dear to the One becomes dear to everyone — that's the real belonging.
This Pauree is about belonging and honor: when the One is merciful, it "causes His Name to be chanted," brings us to the Guru, and "preserves the honor of His servants." The lovely social claim: jo har kaa piaaraa so sabhnaa kaa piaaraa — "one who is dear to the Lord is dear to all." A heart truly turned toward the good becomes lovable to everyone around it; goodness makes a person dear. The line that "the Righteous Judge does not approach the Lord's servant" is rendered simply as being kept safe and close — the fearful judgment-imagery set aside for the reassurance underneath. For a child: when you're full of genuine goodness, people can feel it, and it makes you dear to them.
Have you noticed how a genuinely kind person tends to be loved by almost everyone?
