The Best Goodness Is Like a Fruit Tree

ਸਾਹਿਬੁ ਸਫਲਿਓ ਰੁਖੜਾ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਜਾ ਕਾ ਨਾਉ ॥

Those who drink it in are satisfied; I am a sacrifice to them. ||2||

In plain words

The One is like a wonderful fruit tree, and its Name is the sweetest, most refreshing nectar.

Everyone who tastes it feels completely satisfied — full, content, wanting nothing more.

I feel so grateful for people like that, whose hearts are truly filled.

The best goodness is like a fruit tree — it fills you up so completely you stop feeling you're missing something.
The deeper layer

A lovely image: saahib saflio rukhrhaa — "the Lord is the fruitful tree, whose Name is ambrosial nectar." A fruit tree gives freely, shading and feeding whoever comes; the One is pictured that way — endlessly nourishing. And those who "drink" its nectar "are satisfied" (tript — the deep contentment that ends restless wanting). Guru Nanak then does what the Gurus so often do — turns in gratitude toward those people: "I am a sacrifice to them," the ones whose hearts are truly full. There's no envy in it, only glad admiration for a contented heart. For a child: the best kind of goodness is like a fruit tree — it fills you up so completely that you stop feeling like you're missing something.

A Question to Sit With

What fills you up so well that afterward you feel content and not restless?
