Intoxicated by attachment, in the company of sinners, the mortal has forgotten such a Lord from his mind. ||1||Pause||

In plain words

I have heard it said: the One lifts everyone up.

Yet people soaked in attachment, caught up with those who pull them off course, let such a One slip from their minds.

The One who lifts everyone is easy to forget and worth remembering.
The deeper layer

Here is good news: sunee-at parabh ta-o sagal uDhaaran — I have heard that the One lifts up everyone. No one is left out.

Then comes the honest problem. Moh magan means soaked in moh, attachment. That is holding on too tightly to people and things. When we are wrapped up like that, and spend time with those who pull us the wrong way, we forget the One.

It's like a phone game that swallows a whole evening. The game isn't evil; you just forgot everything else. The verse is not calling any person bad. It shows how easily remembering slips away when we are wrapped up in things.

A Question to Sit With

What helps you remember something important when life gets busy?
