From whom should I hide? Whom should I try to deceive? Wherever I look, I see Him near at hand.

I have met with Guru Nanak, the Embodiment of the Holy Saints. When the drop of water merges into the ocean, it cannot be distinguished as separate again. ||2||1||117||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

Who could I ever hide from? Who would I try to fool? Everywhere I look, You are right here beside me.

Nanak says: I met the Guru, the very picture of holiness, and became like a drop slipping into the ocean -- no longer a separate drop, simply one with the whole.

You were never a lonely drop -- you are part of a whole ocean.
The deeper layer

kaa ka-o duraa-o -- from whom to hide, when the One is everywhere near (nayraa)? saagar boond -- the drop merging into the ocean, the classic image of the small self dissolving into the One and never again standing apart. Closes at ||117||.

A Question to Sit With

When have you felt part of something much bigger than just yourself?
