Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

Never let me slip from Your mind.

Hold me close, my Master, my God; remember the love I have carried for You from the very start.

Asking to be remembered is trusting that you belong.
The deeper layer

The Rahau. apnay sayvak ka-o kabahu na bisaarahu -- do not forget Your own. poorab preet -- a love from the beginning, older than memory. To ask to be remembered is to trust that one already matters.

A Question to Sit With

Who is someone you never want to lose touch with?
