In plain words

How lucky I am — the One I love has come into my home.

The doorway is beautiful and the whole garden is green and alive. My peace-giving One has made me new and filled me with joy and delight and love.

The One is forever young and fresh — what words could ever hold all that goodness? My resting place is lovely; one look and I am spellbound, and every worry and ache melts away. Nanak prays: my hope is answered — I have met the One who has no limit.

When the One comes home to your heart, the whole inner garden turns green.
The deeper layer

Dhan Dhan hamaaray bhaag — blessed is my destiny. Ghar aa-i-aa pir: the Beloved comes home — arrival and homecoming. Saglaa ban haraa: the whole garden green, inner flourishing. Naval navtan: ever-new, ever-young. Sayj (bed): a lovely resting place. Sagal sahsaa dukh haraa: all doubt and pain dispelled. Apramparaa: without limit.

A Question to Sit With
