Beyond All Praise

ਕਹਿ ਰਵਿਦਾਸ ਅਕਥ ਕਥਾ ਬਹੁ ਕਾਇ ਕਰੀਜੈ ॥
kahi ravidaas akath kathaa baho kaa-ay kareejai.
Says Ravi Daas, what more can be said about the Unspoken Speech?
ਜੈਸਾ ਤੂ ਤੈਸਾ ਤੁਹੀ ਕਿਆ ਉਪਮਾ ਦੀਜੈ ॥੩॥੧॥
jaisaa too taisaa tuhee ki-aa upmaa deejai. ||3||1||
Whatever You are, You are, O Lord; how can anything compare with Your Praises? ||3||1||

In plain words

Ravidas says, what more can I say about something too wonderful for words? At some point language just runs out.

You simply are what You are — beyond every comparison I could reach for. So I will just stand in the wonder of it.

Some wonders are too great for words — and that is part of the wonder.
The deeper layer

akath kathaa — the "unspeakable speech," the One beyond words. jaisaa too taisaa tuhee — "You are as You are," beyond all upmaa (comparison). Ravidas ends in awed silence — the recognition that the One exceeds every image.

A Question to Sit With

What is something so amazing to you that words do not quite capture it?
