The One Word of the Shabad abides within my mind; I shall not come to be born again. ||1||

In plain words

My own mind is the temple. I do not need to travel anywhere far and holy; my body is the plain robe of a seeker, and the sacred river I bathe in flows deep inside my own heart.

One true Word lives in my very breath. Once you carry that within you, you are already home, and the endless coming and going comes to rest.

You do not have to go anywhere holy; the sacred place is inside you.
The deeper layer

man mandar tan vays kalandar: the mind is the temple, the body the humble seeker's simple cloth. ghat hee tirath naavaa: I bathe at the pilgrimage-place within my own heart, a quiet redirection from outer ritual to inner life. ayk sabad mayrai paraan basat hai: one Word dwells in my breath. baahurh janam na aavaa: the cycle of coming and going comes to rest, and you are already home.

A Question to Sit With

Where is a place you feel most at home in yourself, without going anywhere at all?
