In plain words

It is easy to get so tangled up in arguments, in chasing fun, in wanting to look important, that you forget to notice the deeper things in life.

Life is short and precious. It would be a shame to sleepwalk through it without ever waking up to what lasts.

Do not get so busy with small things that you sleepwalk past the big ones.
The deeper layer

Wake up. It is easy to get so busy that you forget what matters most.

The verse uses a strong picture: time's end is laughing just above our heads, and we do not notice. It even calls such a person a pasoo-aa, an animal that grazes without looking up. The point is not to scare anyone. The point is to wake up.

Baad saad — arguments and chasing fun. Add ahankaar, wanting to look important. These three form a tangle. Think of scrolling a phone so long that the sunset comes and goes unseen. Life is short and precious. The call is to look up and notice what lasts.

A Question to Sit With

What is something that matters that is easy to forget when you are busy?
