In plain words

So here is what I finally learned: I don't have to out-think the mystery. I just have to lean toward it.

The moment I rest at the One's feet and stay close, I stop wandering and stop feeling lost. The answer the great ones searched for turns out to be simple nearness.

Staying near the One is what ends the wandering.
The deeper layer

You do not have to out-think the mystery. You just have to stay close.

Kahi kabeer so bharmai naahee: Kabir says, that person does not wander lost. Who? Pag lag raam rahai sarnaahee: the one who bows at the One's feet and stays in the sarnaa, the safe shelter of the One.

Think of a small child in a crowd, holding a parent's hand. The child does not need to know the way home. Staying close is enough. Here Kabir ties the whole shabad together. The way in is not being the smartest. It is loving trust, and staying near.

A Question to Sit With

When you feel lost, what helps you feel close again?
