Chant only the One Naam, the Name of the Lord, O mortal, and seek the Sanctuary of the One Lord. ||3||2||

In plain words

So I set down the tangled worries in my mind — the endless what-ifs that spin and never settle.

I keep it simple: I hold the One Name close, and I rest in the One's care. That quiet trust is worth more than all my worrying.

Set down the spinning worry; hold one simple thing close.
The deeper layer

Set down the spinning worry, and hold one simple thing close.

Kahat kabeer sunhu ray paraanee chhodahu man kay bharmaa: Kabir says, listen, friend, let go of the bharam in your mind. Bharam is doubt that spins and never settles, like a washing machine stuck on spin.

Kayval naam japahu: hold only the Name. Parahu ayk kee sarnaa: rest in the shelter of the One. The whole shabad has been a wake-up call. Here it lands in one calm, simple step: trust, and keep it simple, in place of anxious striving.

A Question to Sit With

What worry could you set down today, just to see how it feels?
