Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
The word that is true is like sweet nectar, and it has been so in every age. A heart that is ready and open melts into the true Name.
The wise, the seekers, and everyone everywhere long for it. It comes to a heart that is ready and open.
Everyone, everywhere, is thirsty for the same true Word.
Chahu jug meh amrit saachee banee — in all four ages, the true Word is amrit, the nectar that brings life beyond death. It has stayed fresh through every age, the way water is still what everyone needs, however much the world changes.
SiDh saaDhik — spiritual masters and seekers — and sabh lo-ay, all people, tarseh, thirst for the Name. It is paraapat, received, poorai bhaag, by full good fortune. That good fortune is not luck someone earns. It is the openness that lets grace land, and grace is always here.
When have you wanted something so much that you could feel yourself thirsting for it?
