The Lord Master is unseen, unfathomable and unreachable; through the Perfect Guru, He is revealed. ||1||

In plain words

There is only One. And the One is found by the True Guru's grace — a gift that is always here, waiting for an open heart.

Hold the One in your heart and turn it over gently in your mind, again and again, keeping the name of the heart-enchanter close.

The One is unseen, beyond reach, hard to grasp — and yet through the full teacher, it becomes clear and near.

What seems too far to reach can become clear from the inside.
The deeper layer

The One is hidden from our eyes, and the teacher makes the One clear.

Ur Dhaar beechaar means hold the One in your heart and think it over. The One is called manmohan, the heart-enchanter. That is the One whose beauty draws us in, the way a sunset makes you stop and look.

Then comes a puzzle. Adrist agochar aprampar — the One is unseen, out of reach and without end. Yet gur poorai pargat kar deenay — the full teacher makes the One plain to see. Think of a far-off planet. You cannot see it with your eyes alone. Through a telescope, it is suddenly right there. The teaching works like that. It brings the far One near.

A Question to Sit With

Has an idea that once seemed impossible to understand ever suddenly become clear?
