In plain words

Remembering my own dear One, over and over, my body and mind and heart all go cool and calm. It feels like a hot day easing into evening.

The One is my beauty, my delight, my peace, my wealth, my very soul — and the place where I belong.

Remembering the One cools and settles the whole self.
The deeper layer

Remembering the One cools you down, body and heart.

Simar simar su-aamee parabh apnaa seetal tan man chhaatee — remembering my own dear One again and again, my body, mind, and heart grow cool. Seetal means cool and soothed. You feel it in your body, like stepping into shade on a hot summer afternoon.

Then the verse lists what people use to measure worth. Roop rang sookh Dhan jee-a kaa paarbarahm morai jaatee — the Supreme One is my beauty, joy, peace, wealth, soul, and jaat. Jaat means social rank, the place a family is given by birth. The One takes the place of every one of these. So the old ladders of rank quietly lose their hold.

A Question to Sit With

When your insides feel hot and restless, what helps you cool down?
