Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
Peace right here, peace in whatever comes next, peace that stays always — all of it comes from remembering. So keep the Naam of the One with you always.
Join the Sangat, and old mistakes fade away; a heart that had gone numb comes alive again.
Remembering the One brings peace now, peace later, and peace that stays.
This is the Rahao, the "pause" line at the center of the shabad. Halat sukh palat sukh nit sukh — peace in this life, peace in what comes after, and peace always. All three come from simrano naam, remembering the Name.
Then: mu-aa jeejai — "the dead come alive." It means a heart that had gone numb wakes up again. Think of a plant that looked dried out, and after a few days of water it stands up green. That is the hope in this line.
It happens in saaDhsangat: the Sangat — people gathered together to remember the One — where old mistakes fade away.
When has the Sangat brought a part of you back to life?
