Every good quality, every honoring, every bit of wisdom and stillness and service — all of it is a gift.
It comes when the true teacher meets you with kindness.
Here all those questions get their answer, and the answer changes everything.
Gun poojaa gi-aan dhi-aan naanak sagal ghaal — good qualities, worship, wisdom, meditation and every effort. None of these come from finding the perfect technique. They come jis kar kirpaa satgur milai da-i-aal — when the kind, true Guru meets you in mercy.
The seeker kept asking, "What must I do?" The answer is: it is given, not done. It comes by grace, which Sikhs call Gurprasad, the Guru's gift.
Think of sunshine. You do not earn it by trying hard. You step outside, and it is already there. That is freeing. The questions about practice stay sincere. But the pressure to find the one perfect method can rest in grace.
How does it feel to learn that the most important things are given to you, not something you have to earn?
