Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
The worry that used to circle in my mind is gone. The things my heart truly hoped for have quietly come true. It is all because kindness reached me from the source of every good thing.
The worry is gone, and the heart's real hopes have come true.
Mit ga-ee chint — the anxiety is erased. Punee man aasaa — the mind's hopes are fulfilled. Karee da-i-aa satgur guntaasaa — this happens through the da-i-aa, the kindness, of the True Guru. The Guru is called guntaasaa, the treasure of every good quality.
The verse names both gifts together, as praise of that kindness. You might wonder if the worry has to lift first. Maybe a calm mind can finally receive what was always on its way. That is one way to think about it, but the verse itself does not set out an order.
Think of a room so noisy that you cannot hear a friend calling your name. When the noise stops, you hear them.
What worry, if it lifted, would let something good finally reach you?
