In plain words

Letting go of everything else, I came into the shelter of the guide. My worries dissolved, and I found peace — a real, settled peace.

The shabad's close: set down what you were clutching, step into shelter, and worry has nothing left to hold.
The deeper layer

The shabad ends by letting go: set down what you were clutching, and worry has nothing left to hold.

Sagal ti-aag gur sarnee aa-i-aa — leaving everything else, I came to the Guru's shelter. Mitay andaysay — the worries were wiped away. Sukh paa-i-aa — peace was found.

The movement is let go, then rest. Picture carrying a heavy backpack all day, then setting it down at your front door. What was clutched is put down. Shelter is entered. And worry has nothing left to hang on to.

A Question to Sit With

What is something you are clutching that you could set down to feel lighter?
