through the Pure Mantra of the Perfect Guru. ||2||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

Night and day, sing the praises of the One who has no end, using the clear, pure words the perfect guide has given.

Approach the endless One through a simple, clear practice sung morning to night.
The deeper layer

The One has no end, and yet the way to come close is simple: sing, day and night.

Rain dinas gun gaa-o anantaa — night and day, sing the praises of the Endless One. Anant means endless, with no edge anywhere. Gur pooray kaa nirmal manntaa — through the pure teaching of the perfect Guru. Nirmal means spotless, clear, like clean water.

So the vast, endless One is reached through something clear and uncomplicated. You don't need a giant plan. You need a song you keep singing, morning to night.

It is like a friendship. You don't build it with one huge gesture. You build it by saying hello every single day.

A Question to Sit With

What is a simple thing you could do morning and night that keeps you grounded?
