In plain words

Blessed is any place where people gather to sing about the wonder of the One who fills the whole universe. Something changes in a room like that.

When I turn toward that wonder, a deep peace and gladness settle in on their own, quietly making a home inside me.

Any place where wonder is remembered together becomes blessed, and peace quietly moves in.
The deeper layer

This is the Rahao — the pause-line that holds the heart of the shabad. Dhan ih thaan means "blessed is this place," and the "place" is wherever the divine is remembered together. Kusal khaym — peace and pleasure — are not chased or manufactured; they "come to dwell" (basaa-ay) when attention turns toward the One. The whole shabad unfolds this single idea: nearness to the remembered divine is itself the blessing.

A Question to Sit With

Where is a place — a room, a moment, a group — where you feel a peace settle in that you didn't have to work for?
