ਅਉਖਧ ਮੰਤ੍ਰ ਮੂਲੁ ਮਨ ਏਕੈ ਜੇ ਕਰਿ ਦ੍ਰਿੜੁ ਚਿਤੁ ਕੀਜੈ ਰੇ ॥
a-ukhaDh mantar mool man aykai jay kar darirh chit keejai ray.
O mind, there is only the One medicine, mantra and healing herb - center your consciousness firmly on the One Lord.
ਜਨਮ ਜਨਮ ਕੇ ਪਾਪ ਕਰਮ ਕੇ ਕਾਟਨਹਾਰਾ ਲੀਜੈ ਰੇ ॥੧॥
janam janam kay paap karam kay katanhaaraa leejai ray. ||1||
Take to the Lord, the Destroyer of the sins and karma of past incarnations. ||1||

My mind, there is only one medicine, one mantra, one healing herb: settle yourself firmly on the One. Hold to the One, who clears away the weight of old wrongs.
There is really one medicine for the soul: settle firmly on the One.
Nanak gathers every kind of cure -- medicine, mantra, healing root -- into a single prescription: the One. The Name is the destroyer of the karmic residue of past lives (Karma). One remedy for every ailment.
