Build a Name Worth Carrying, Not a Trail of Harm

ਤਿਨਿ ਮਾਰਿਆ ਜਿ ਰਖੈ ਨ ਕੋਇ ॥
tin maari-aa je rakhai na ko-ay.
He is killed, and no one can save him.
ਆਗੈ ਪਾਛੈ ਮੰਦੀ ਸੋਇ ॥੩॥
aagai paachhai mandee so-ay. ||3||
Here and hereafter, his reputation is evil. ||3||

In plain words

Some harms, once truly set in motion, are hard for anyone to stop — the natural results follow.

A person who lives by tearing others down finds it costs them, both now and later, in the way they are remembered.

A life built on tearing others down leaves a trail that follows you — so build a name worth carrying.
The deeper layer

Aagai paachhai mandee so-ay — "here and hereafter, an ill reputation." The pauri is not calling for anyone to be destroyed; it is describing consequence. A life built on cruelty leaves a trail — a so-ay, a name, a reputation — that follows a person. In the project's lens this is the mirror of karma: not fate imposed from outside, but the natural echo of how you have treated others. The invitation is quiet: build a name worth carrying.

A Question to Sit With

What kind of name — what reputation — would you like to leave behind you as you go through life?
