In the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, drink deeply of the Lord's Ambrosial Nectar. ||2||103||172||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

The one who keeps the Name of the One in mind is the one who is truly, fully alive.

In good company, they drink deeply of that sweetness, the nectar that refreshes from within.

To truly live is more than to survive — it is to be steeped in the sweetness of the One, together.
The deeper layer

The closing signature. Naam japai so jeevai — "the one who remembers the Name truly lives." As in this raag's other shabads, jeevai — "lives" — points past mere survival to being genuinely, wakefully alive. And saadhsang har amrit peevai — in good company, one "drinks the nectar of the One." Amrit is the deathless sweetness, the deep refreshment of remembrance shared among seekers. After a shabad about being rescued from illness, it ends on what it means to be truly alive: not just to survive, but to be steeped in the sweetness of the One.

A Question to Sit With

What is the difference, to you, between just getting through your days and feeling truly alive?
