In plain words

Rest steady in the home of your own self, dear one who loves the One. There is no need to run around anxious — the true teacher will set your affairs in order.

Rest steady in your own center; you don't have to fix everything by force.
The deeper layer

Stay settled in your own heart, and trust that your needs will be looked after.

This shabad is by Guru Arjan, the fifth Guru. This is its Rahao, the "pause" line at the center of the shabad. Thir ghar baishu har jan pi-aaray — sit steady in your home, dear servant of the One. The "home" is your own settled center, deep inside. Har jan pi-aaray is a tender way to speak to the listener: beloved one who belongs to the One.

Then comes the reassurance. Satgur tumray kaaj savaaray — the True Guru will set your affairs right. The Satgur is the true teacher. Think of a child sitting calmly in the back seat while a parent drives. The child does not need to grab the wheel. That trust frees the mind from anxious managing.

The whole shabad flows out from this calm.

A Question to Sit With

What helps you feel settled and steady inside when life feels busy or worried?
