ਨਾਨਕ ਓਟ ਪਕਰੀ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸੁਆਮੀ ॥੪॥੧੦੮॥
naanak ot pakree parabh su-aamee. ||4||108||
he grasps the Support of God, his Lord and Master. ||4||108||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

Having entered the shelter of the One who knows every heart from the inside, I have taken firm hold of that support. The One is my master and my safe place.

The One who knows every heart is also the safe place you can hold onto.
The deeper layer

The One who knows every heart from the inside is also the safe place you can hold on to.

Antarjaamee means the inner-knower. The One sees inside every heart. So there is nothing to hide and nothing to prove.

Saran paray — came into the shelter. Ot pakree — took hold of the support. These are the two moves of finding refuge. First you come in. Then you hold on. Think of running in out of the rain, and then holding a warm hand.

The shabad ends where its pause line began: in safe, settled rest, now fully claimed.

A Question to Sit With

Is there someone who knows the real you and is still a safe place to be?
