In plain words

Once I found the very One I had been longing for, where was there left to go searching? I became steady and settled, resting in a seat of peace. By the grace of the teacher, I have entered the true home of peace.

When you find what you were always looking for, the searching finally rests.
The deeper layer

This one says that once you find what you were longing for, the searching can rest.

Jo chaahat so-ee jab paa-i-aa — when you find the very One you wanted, tab dhoodhan kahaa ko jaa-i-aa — where is there left to go looking? The restless hunting stops.

Think of searching the whole house for your phone, only to find it in your own hand. You can sit down now.

Asthir bha-ay — you become steady. You rest in sukh aasan, a seat of peace. And gur parsaad, by the grace of the Guru, the teacher, you enter sukh baasan, the home of peace.

This brings the whole shabad home. It started with effort, moved through letting go of the self, and ends in arriving.

A Question to Sit With

Have you ever wanted something so long that finding it made you feel completely at rest?
