In plain words

You are all-powerful, endless, so high and vast, the Giver of peace, the very support of my breath.

So be kind to me, God, and let me stay always in the company of those good people.

Of everything the boundless One could give, the sweetest thing to ask for is to stay near good people.
The deeper layer

Of everything the boundless One could give, the sweetest thing to ask is to stay near good people.

The closing lines gather many names for the One. Samrath means all-powerful. Apaar means without end. At oochay means most high. Sukh-daatay means giver of peace. Paraan adhoree means the support of every breath.

So the One is huge and also very close, as close as your own breathing.

Then comes a humble request. Keejai kirpaa un santan kai sang sangoree — be kind, and let me stay in the company of those good, God-loving people.

Imagine being offered anything at all, and choosing to sit with your best friends. The seeker could ask the boundless One for anything. The one wish is: keep me near the good.

A Question to Sit With

If you could ask for just one thing to help you grow kinder, what would it be?
