The Only Treasure Worth Wanting Stays With You

Please give me that treasure, which will go along with me, O servant of the Lord. ||3||

In plain words

Here and everywhere beyond, You are all-powerful; every single thing rests in Your hands.

So give me the one treasure that will actually travel with me — the One who walks beside me the whole way.

The only treasure worth wanting is the one that stays with you no matter where life goes.
The deeper layer

Eet oot parabh tum samrathaa — 'here and hereafter, God, You are all-powerful' — the One's care spans this life and whatever lies beyond, rendered as everywhere, without frightening afterlife imagery. Sabh kichh tumrai haathay — everything is in the One's hands (trust, not fatalism). The request sharpens to the shabad's core: aisaa nidhaan dayh mo ka-o... chalai hamaarai saathay — 'give me the treasure that travels with me.' Echoing the 'naked you came, naked you go' teaching from earlier, the seeker asks for the one wealth that isn't left behind: the abiding presence of the One.

A Question to Sit With

If you were going on a long journey and could bring just one thing, what would truly matter to have?
