Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
Make a home for awe inside your heart, and watch all your other fears scatter and run. What kind of fear is this, that frightens away every other fear? Without you, I have nowhere at all to rest. And whatever happens, happens inside your flow.
Same bhau-paradox as the previous shabad, now posed as a riddle: "what sort of fear frightens other fears?" The reverent awe of the One is the single fear that evicts all the rest, because it anchors the soul in something the anxieties cannot reach. The last lines fold in Hukam: there is no other resting place, and whatever happens moves within the One's Will. Awe and trust in the flow turn out to be two faces of the same security.
What is one worry that feels smaller when you remember how vast the world is?
