Nothing Is Ours to Keep

If anyone really has anyone else - how rare is that person!

All are Yours - You are the Lord of all.

All beings and creatures, wealth and property belong to Him.

O Nanak, it is so difficult to describe and contemplate Him. ||4||2||

In plain words

Does anyone truly belong to anyone else? How rare to find. Everyone belongs to you. You are the One behind all of us. Every creature, every bit of wealth, all of it is yours. And how hard it is to put you into words, or to hold you in the mind at all.

Nothing is really ours to keep -- it all belongs to the One we can barely put into words.
The deeper layer

A quiet dismantling of moha, possessive attachment: the claim "this person is mine, this thing is mine" barely holds -- how rare that it is even true. All belong to the One; ownership is on loan. The closing Nanak line lands on the note that runs through all of Gauree Mehl 1: the One is finally hard to describe and hard even to contemplate -- which is itself why awe, not cleverness, is the right response.

A Question to Sit With

What is something you call "mine"? What would it feel like to hold it a little more lightly?
