In plain words

My deepest wish has come true, and my mind and body are green and alive again. Beholding the Beloved, all my sorrow has lifted away. Keeping the Name close, again and again, I have crossed safely through — and now, dear one, I rest in a joy almost too great to hold.

Longing answered turns a wilted heart green again and fills it with joy almost too big to hold.
The deeper layer

The longing is answered, and the wilted heart turns green again.

Ichh punnee — my wish is fulfilled. The longing from the start of the song is answered. Man tan hari-aa — mind and body have turned green. It is the picture of a drooping plant after rain, with life flowing back into it.

Darsan paykhat sabh dukh parhari-aa — seeing the Beloved, all dukh, sorrow, is taken away. These are the singer's own words about meeting the One. They are a hope held in love, not a promise that sadness will never come.

The song ends with ajar sukh, a joy so huge the heart can barely hold it. The whole song has traveled from missing someone to being filled with their presence.

A Question to Sit With

What is a joy so big you could barely hold it? What brought it?
