O my dear beloved camel-like mind, dwell upon the Divine Light within the body.

The Guru has shown me the nine treasures of the Naam. The Merciful Lord has bestowed this gift. ||5||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

O my dear beloved mind, the light you keep searching the world for is shining right inside your own body.

The teaching shows me this like nine great treasures opening at once. What a gift, given freely by the kind One.

The light you search the whole world for is already shining inside you -- a free gift.
The deeper layer

Vich dayhee jot samaal -- "hold the Light within the body." The same message as Pauri 0 in a new key: not out there, in here. The nau nidh (nine treasures) is a traditional image of total abundance -- in the old stories these were the nine legendary treasures of wealth; here Guru Ram Das re-points them at the Name, saying real riches are the divine presence already within you. And it comes as daat -- a gift, da-i-aal -- from mercy, not from earning.

A Question to Sit With

If the best treasure were something you already carry, how would you treat yourself?
