In plain words

When I clutch at 'this is mine, that is mine,' clinging tight, life gets heavy with worry.

But when I recognize the Maker at work in everything, all that gnawing worry lets go, and I am at ease.

Clutching 'mine, mine' makes life heavy; seeing the Maker in everything sets the worry down.
The deeper layer

This one says clutching "mine, mine" makes life heavy.

Jab in apunee apnee dhaaree — when he clings to "my own, my own." That is holding on too tight to what you have. Tab is ka-o hai muskal bhaaree — then life is heavy with trouble. Muskal bhaaree means heavy difficulty. Think of carrying every toy you own everywhere you go, just so no one else can touch them. Your arms get tired fast.

The turn is jab in karnaihaar pachhaataa — when he recognizes the Creator. Karnaihaar is the Maker, the One behind all things. When you see that everything is held in one Hand, your tight grip loosens.

Tab is no naahee kichh taataa — then there is no burning worry at all. Taataa is that hot, fretting feeling. It is worry on the inside, and it lifts.

A Question to Sit With

What is something you hold so tightly that just holding it makes you anxious?
