When Goodness Is Your Treasure, the Ego Quiets

jinaa potai punn say gi-aan beechaaree.
Those who have virtue as their treasure, contemplate spiritual wisdom.
jinaa potai punn tin ha-umai maaree.
Those who have virtue as their treasure, subdue egotism.
naanak jo naam ratay tin ka-o balihaaree. ||4||7||27||
Nanak is a sacrifice to those who are attuned to the Naam, the Name of the Lord. ||4||7||27||

In plain words

Those whose treasure is goodness reflect on what is wise; those whose treasure is goodness quiet the ego. And I would give myself for those who are tuned to the Name.

When goodness is your treasure, wisdom grows and the ego quiets.
The deeper layer

Virtue as treasure yields wisdom and the subduing of ego -- the two fruits Amar Das returns to again and again. The closing is his characteristic humility (cf. Nanak as dust of the feet): reverence for those attuned to the Name.

A Question to Sit With

What "treasure" are you building inside -- and what is it growing in you?
