You Cannot Describe the One, Only Melt Into It

Gauree Gwaarayree, Third Mehl:
tooN akath ki-o kathi-aa jaahi.
You are Indescribable; how can I describe You?

Those who subdue their minds, through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, are absorbed in You.
tayray gun anayk keemat nah paahi. ||1||
Your Glorious Virtues are countless; their value cannot be estimated. ||1||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

You cannot be described -- so how could I describe you? Those who quiet their minds through the Word melt into you. Your good qualities are beyond counting; no one can put a price on you.

You cannot describe the One -- but by quieting the mind you can melt into it.
The deeper layer

And a humble note: the One is beyond all describing. Yet those who subdue the mind through the Shabad are absorbed -- you reach the indescribable not by describing but by quieting. The virtues are countless, beyond appraisal (kudrat).

A Question to Sit With

Is there something you understand better by going quiet than by talking about it?
