A Shelter Made for Those Who Feel They Have No One

ਅਨਾਥਹ ਨਾਥ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲ ਦੀਨ ਸੰਮ੍ਰਿਥ ਸੰਤ ਓਟਾਇਓ ॥੬॥
anaathah naath kirpaal deen sammrith sant otaa-i-o. ||6||
He is the Master of the masterless, Merciful to the meek, All-powerful, the Support of His Saints. ||6||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

This One is a home for those who feel they have no one, and gentle to the humble.

This One is strong enough for anything, the steady shelter of the good-hearted.

There is a shelter meant especially for those who feel they have no one.
The deeper layer

This one says the One is a shelter made for anyone who feels they have no one.

Anaathah naath — the Master of those who have no master. It means a home for anyone whose heart feels homeless. Kirpaal deen — kind to the humble. Sammrith sant otaa-i-o — all-powerful, the shelter of the saints.

This verse is pure refuge. The One is there exactly for those who feel they belong nowhere and have no one to protect them. Think of the new kid at school who finds that someone has saved a seat just for them.

A Question to Sit With

Where do you go, or who do you turn to, when you feel like you have no one?
