The Name of the One is sweet, dear one — really taste it, with your whole attention. Once your tongue has tasted that sweetness, the flat, thin flavors of other things lose their pull.
That lasting sweetness comes when the moment is right, and the word makes your words beautiful.
Holding the Name, you find a steady peace; so rest your love there.
From the Name we begin, in the Name we come to rest, and through the Name we settle into what is real. The Name comes through the teaching — and the One gently draws us into loving it.
Once you taste how sweet the Name is, the flatter pleasures lose their pull.
The main picture is har ras, the taste of the One. Devotion is like a flavor. You savor it, not just think about it. An ras saad gavaa-ay — the taste for other flavors fades.
This is not a call to hate the world's pleasures. A deeper delight simply outshines the shallower ones. Think of a warm, home-cooked meal. After it, junk food does not tempt you as much, and there is no rule against it.
Then comes a beautiful circle. Naamay upjai naamay binsai naamay sach samaa-ay — from the Name we arise, into the Name we pass, and through the Name we rest in what is true. The whole arc of a life sits inside the One. Aapay la-ay lavaa-ay — the One draws us close. Even our loving is drawn out of us by grace, never forced.
What is something so good that, once you knew it, the cheaper version just stopped appealing to you?
