Serve the teaching, dear one; hold the Name close in your thoughts. You don't have to travel far — the One is right here, found while you sit at home in your own heart.
Sitting at home in your own being, keeping your attention on the One, you settle into an easy, true calm.
Serving the teaching brings deep comfort; it grows in the one the One awakens to it.
Plant the Name, and the Name sprouts; the Name comes to live in your mind. Real greatness rests in the true Name — and it unfolds, in time, for the one whose heart is ready.
You don't need to travel far to find the One. The door is in your own heart.
The key line is ghar baithi-aa har paa-ay — you find the One while sitting at home. Ghar, home, here means the home of your own being. It is a bold and comforting idea. The real meeting happens inside you, not at the end of a long trip. Traveling outside cannot take the place of turning your attention inward, with the Guru's help. The One is found manjhahu, from within.
Naamo beejay naamo jammai — the Name is planted, and the Name sprouts. Devotion is like gardening. You plant attention, and something living grows. Think of a bean seed in a paper cup on the windowsill. You water it each day, and one morning a green shoot is there.
Poorab likhi-aa paa-ay means "found by what was written before." It can be read as the heart becoming ready in its own time, rather than as a fixed fate. Greatness unfolds, gently, from within.
What is something important you've been looking for far away, that might actually be close to home?
