The One is beyond all measuring — no one can reach the far edge of it. And yet this One lifts up everyone: even those who have wandered far and made many mistakes are made whole again.
Countless people who once slipped and stumbled are cleansed and renewed — they meet holy people, and hold the sweet Naam close. Pretending, trickery, and clinging attachment fall away from those the One protects.
The One is the true Sovereign, the royal shelter over every head — and Nanak says: there is no other at all.
The One beyond all measure lifts up everyone, even those who wandered far.
Pappa is the "lifter of the fallen" Pauri. Parmit paar na paa-i-aa — beyond estimation, no far shore found. The great phrase is patit paavan — "purifier of the fallen" — and kot apraadhoo... punee-t, "millions who erred are made pure." Apraadhoo means those who have wandered far and made many mistakes, and the whole note is renewal and welcome: being made whole again. Chhatar sir so-oo — the royal canopy — becomes a shelter over every head, an image of a covering for all. The close doosar avar na ko-oo — "no other at all" — the Oneness itself.
Why do you think the One is described as especially lifting up those who have stumbled, rather than only those who never did?
