In plain words

Greed, pretending, and the tangles that pull us off course can all take up room inside this body of ours — they're part of being human.

But Nanak says: when you drink in the sweetness of the Naam — turning toward the Guru — those things lose their hold, and you come to rest in a deep and settled peace. The sweetness within has more room than the trouble ever did.

Greed and tangles are part of being human — but the sweetness of the Naam has more room inside you than the trouble ever did.
The deeper layer

Drinking in the sweetness of the Naam, you come to rest in peace.

Laalach jhooth bikhai bi-aadh... baas — greed, falsehood, and corrupting pulls dwell in this body: an honest naming of our inner tangles, held as human. Bikhai bi-aadh means the tangles that pull us off course, something to heal. The remedy is har amrit gurmukh pee-aa — turning toward the Guru and drinking the sweet Naam — and sookh nivaas, abiding in peace. The sweetness within has more room than the trouble. The "Lalla" Pauri follows, on the Naam as medicine.

A Question to Sit With

What helps you find your way back to a settled, peaceful feeling when greed or worry has crowded in?
