In plain words

Searching my own mind and body all the way through, I found the One I had been longing for.

I found the teacher, the true go-between, who joined me to the One.

The One you long for is not out there somewhere — search all the way through yourself, and you find You were carrying it the whole time.
The deeper layer

A brief, luminous Shalok of the Fourth Mehl — just two lines, and one of the sweetest resolutions in the Vaar. The search that runs through so many of these verses (dig deep, seek within) reaches its find: mai man tan khoj khojediaa — "searching my own mind and body," the One was found. Note where: not out in the world but "all the way through" oneself. The teacher is named visat guroo — the "go-between" or bridge — the one who joins the seeker to what was sought. After all the longing, this is the quiet click of arrival.

A Question to Sit With

When have you finally found something after a long search? Where was it — and how did it feel the moment you found it?
