The One Can Gather Even the Far-Wandered Home

O Nanak, they are struck down by the All-powerful, the Cause of causes. ||2||

In plain words

Those who wandered far from the One at the very start — where can they finally find rest?

Their own drifting catches up with them; only the One, who holds all causes, can gather them back.

Drifting far from your source has its own quiet weight — but the One who holds all things can always gather even the far-wandered back home.
The deeper layer

A brief Shalok of the Fifth Mehl. The literal says those who "went astray from the Primal Being" are "struck down by the All-powerful." Per the wellbeing rules, this is not staged as smiting; it becomes the gentler truth that "their own drifting catches up with them" — the natural weight of a life turned away from its source. The hopeful turn is folded in: the One who "holds all causes" (karan kaaran samrath) is exactly the One who can gather the drifter back. Even the far-wandered are not beyond reach — the same power that lets consequences arrive can also bring you home.

A Question to Sit With

When you feel far from where you want to be, what helps you find your way back? Do you believe it is ever truly too late to return?
