A tangled mind gets untangled by meeting kind, good-hearted people and giving of yourself in service.
Do this, and you find yourself close to the One again — and the knots that once held you simply come undone.
A Shalok pairing two familiar threads. Durmat — the knotted, wrong-turned mind — is haree (cleared away), not by force but by sayvaa (service) and bhaytay saadh (meeting the kind-hearted). The result is prabh si-o mil rahay — staying merged with the One — and binsay sagal janjaal, "all the tangles dissolve." Janjaal (entanglements) here means the sticky worries and attachments that trap the mind; they don't need to be cut violently — in good company and useful service they simply come undone. It's a gentler, more relational picture of freedom than "conquering" anything: you're loosened by love and by being useful.
Have you noticed how helping someone else can quietly untangle your own worries?
