Day twelve. Give freely, keep the One in mind, and stay clean-hearted. Love the One and let your pride relax.
In good company, drink in the sweetness of the Name; the heart grows full and satisfied singing what is beautiful. Gentle words settle everyone around you.
Your very soul — the fine thread woven through all of you — feeds on that sweetness. This trust comes to you through the perfect teaching, and living in it, you no longer keep circling back into the old restlessness.
Duaadasee is the twelfth day, echoing daan ("giving," charity). The verse names three classic practices — daan (charity), naam (remembrance), isnaan (cleansing) — and quietly refills them with heart: charity done freely, remembrance with love, cleansing as inner clean-heartedness. Komal banee sabh ka-o santokhai — "gentle words soothe everyone" — is a lovely social note: kind speech contents those around you, so the practice spills outward. Panch bhoo aatmaa is the soul "made of the five elements" — rendered here as "the fine thread woven through all of you." The closing fir jon na aaee-ai ("not born again") is softened to not circling back into old restlessness — keeping the freedom, dropping the birth-and-death fear.
Whose gentle words have calmed you down — and can you be that for someone today?
