When the Saving Grace of sinners dwells in the mind, O Nanak, then one is saved by the Naam, the Name of the Lord. ||13||

In plain words

While the mind is swung around by those three restless pulls, nothing quite comes together the way you hope.

But when the One who lifts the fallen settles into your heart, you're set free — carried by the Name.

Nothing comes together while the mind swings — but the One who lifts the fallen settles in and sets you free.
The deeper layer

A Shalok returning to the teen gun — the three restless pulls introduced earlier — and their effect: pooran hot na kaam, "your efforts don't come to fullness," because a swinging mind can't complete anything cleanly. The release comes from a name for the divine the poem loves: patit udhaaran, "the lifter of those who have fallen" — chosen deliberately because it says the One specializes in lifting exactly the stumbler, no one is too far gone. When that presence man basai (dwells in the mind), chhootai naam — you're freed by the Name. Freedom here isn't earned by fixing yourself first; the lifting is the fix.

A Question to Sit With

Does it change things to know the One's specialty is lifting exactly the ones who've stumbled?
