O Nanak, everyone who falls at his feet is saved. ||1||

In plain words

Whoever truly belongs to the One is never left hungry inside.

And anyone who comes to sit humbly at their feet is lifted up along with them.

A heart truly filled by the One stops going hungry — and its fullness lifts everyone who draws near.
The deeper layer

A short, warm Shalok. Tinnaa bhukh na kaa rahee jis daa prabh hai so-ay — "no hunger remains for the one whose prabh (the One) is theirs." This is the inner fullness the whole Vaar keeps pointing at: not that such a person owns more, but that the gnawing lack is gone — the mind is tripat, satisfied, so it stops grasping. And the fullness spreads: charnee lagi-aa udhrai sabho ko-ay — "everyone who comes to their feet is lifted." Sitting near a truly filled heart, you catch some of that fullness yourself. It is the saadhsang teaching in miniature: good company doesn't just help them; it overflows onto whoever draws near.

A Question to Sit With

Do you know someone who seems full and content inside? How do you feel when you're around them?
